Overview
CE marking is mandatory for electronic products on the European market. In Spain, the Direccion General de Politica Comercial y Competitividad (Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y Turismo) together with the Comunidades Autonomas monitors compliance. Multiple EU directives apply to electronics: the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU (for WiFi/Bluetooth devices), and the Ecodesign Regulation. Additionally, Spanish RAEE legislation (Residuos de Aparatos Electricos y Electronicos, Real Decreto 110/2015) requires registration as an electrical equipment manufacturer and financing of disposal.
