EU Deforestation Regulation

EU regulation against imported deforestation

Clear definitions for marketplaces, manufacturers, and importers.

Definition

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR, EU 2023/1115) prohibits placing commodities linked to deforestation on the EU market. Seven groups are affected: soy, beef, palm oil, wood, cocoa, coffee, and rubber.

Why it matters

For sellers distributing products with these commodities, the EUDR imposes due diligence obligations requiring traceability back to the plot of land.

What you need to do

Submit due diligence statements through the EU information system and document supply chains end to end, including geolocation data of production areas.
