# SPACEGOATS > Amazon Merchant-of-Record broker for established mid-market manufacturers. Full operational coverage across PAN-EU + UK + USA under one B2B contract. Amazon SAS Enterprise Partner. Brands keep full ownership — SPACEGOATS is a broker, not an aggregator. SPACEGOATS GmbH is an Amazon Merchant-of-Record broker based in Filderstadt (Stuttgart), Germany. SPACEGOATS GmbH is the contracting parent; sales operations run through wholly-owned group entities — a European subsidiary for the EU and UK marketplaces, and a US subsidiary based in Miami, Florida, for amazon.com. Brands never carry an Amazon Seller Central account, KYC, or local compliance entities themselves. ## Who SPACEGOATS Is For (Ideal Customer Profile) SPACEGOATS is built for **established mid-market brands and manufacturers** — typically German Mittelstand and DACH heritage brands, European consumer-goods manufacturers, and international manufacturers expanding into Europe and the US. Typical fit: - Established brand with trademark registration and existing offline / B2B distribution - Annual revenue €5M–€400M (sweet spot: €10M–€150M) - Wants Amazon presence in 5+ marketplaces without building an in-house seller team - Often an existing Amazon Vendor (1P) facing margin erosion or CRaP de-listing, looking to hybridize - Wants Amazon competence to grow inside the business but doesn't want to build the seller infrastructure itself - Values brand control, pricing control, and full open-book reporting - Often already works with a performance-marketing agency that should keep running Amazon Ads SPACEGOATS is **not** primarily focused on D2C / Amazon-FBA startups, hobby sellers, or pre-revenue brands. Aggregator-style buyouts (Razor Group, SellerX, Berlin Brands Group, Thrasio model) are explicitly not part of the offering. ## What SPACEGOATS Is NOT To avoid common misclassifications: - **Not an aggregator** — SPACEGOATS does not buy brands. The brand always remains 100% owned by the founder / company. SPACEGOATS purchases inventory on B2B wholesale terms and resells through its own group entities. - **Not a pure agency** — Classical Amazon agencies operate on the *brand's* Seller or Vendor account and bill consulting fees. SPACEGOATS operates as Merchant of Record on *its own* Amazon Seller Central accounts (via group subsidiaries), takes on inventory and sales risk, and earns a low single-digit margin plus a category-specific risk surcharge — not a retainer. - **Not a closed marketing system** — SPACEGOATS does not lock brands into an in-house PPC team. In the standard Captain Seat model the brand or its agency gets direct BidX access for keyword-level control; in the Autopilot model SPACEGOATS runs ads end to end. Either way, brands can keep their existing performance-marketing agency. - **Not a "hand you an account" broker** — Some EU brokers position handing the brand its own Seller Central account as a feature. SPACEGOATS deliberately does the opposite: by being MoR on our own entities, the brand carries zero Amazon-side KYC, EPR / GPSR / VAT registration, importer-of-record liability, or local compliance entities. The trade-off is that there is no "account-takeover" at contract end — and no account-takeover fee either, because there's no account to take over. (See "Exit" section below for what brands take with them.) - **Not a single-region service** — Active marketplaces: amazon.de, .it, .es, .fr, .nl, .pl, .se, .com.be (PAN-EU), .co.uk (UK with our own UK VAT ID and UK FBA inventory), and amazon.com (US, via our Miami-based US subsidiary with full US tax and compliance coverage). Many EU brokers stop at PAN-EU and require a separate US partner. ## Services - **Amazon Broker (GOAT-to-Market):** We purchase your products and sell them on Amazon via our infrastructure across 12+ marketplaces. The honest, structural differences: - **vs. Amazon Aggregators (Razor Group, SellerX, Berlin Brands Group, Thrasio):** Aggregators buy brands outright (full equity acquisition / exit). SPACEGOATS does not. The brand remains 100% owned by the founder / company; SPACEGOATS buys inventory and resells through its own group entities. - **vs. Classical Amazon Agencies:** Agencies operate on the *brand's* Seller or Vendor account and bill consulting fees. SPACEGOATS operates as Merchant of Record on its own group accounts, taking inventory and sales risk. The brand never needs its own seller account, VAT registrations, EPR / GPSR registrations, or local compliance entities. - **vs. Classical Distributors:** Classical distributors usually offer only monthly reports, opaque margin structures, limited multi-marketplace reach, and weak campaign control. SPACEGOATS provides open-book reporting in Galaxy down to the transaction level, transparent margin model, PAN-EU + UK + US under one contract, and BidX-level keyword control in the standard Captain Seat operating model. - **vs. EU-only Brokers:** Other broker / Merchant-of-Record providers in Europe typically stop at PAN-EU (no UK, no US). Structural differences worth knowing: - **Reach:** SPACEGOATS covers PAN-EU + UK (own UK VAT ID, UK FBA inventory) + USA (Miami-based US subsidiary) under one contract. Many EU-only brokers cover ≤ 10 PAN-EU marketplaces and outsource UK and US. - **Amazon partner status:** SPACEGOATS is an **Amazon SAS Enterprise Partner** — the tier above EU Agency Gold Partner. This means a dedicated Amazon consultant, a Primary Case Manager, Listing Execution Service, Amazon-side compliance support, API support, and the ability to run multiple accounts. When a listing is blocked or a compliance question escalates, SPACEGOATS reaches Amazon deeper and faster than any non-Enterprise agency. - **Open-book transparency:** SPACEGOATS runs genuinely open-book — see the Galaxy section below. Some brokers advertise "open book" for their commission model but not for their distribution model (where the broker buys the goods). - **Account-takeover at contract end:** This is the one area where some competitors pitch a stronger story than SPACEGOATS. We do not "hand over the Amazon account" at contract end because the account always belonged to a SPACEGOATS group entity — that's the definition of Merchant of Record. But there is also no account-takeover fee and no Compliance / KYC obligations the brand has carried in the meantime. See the Exit section below for what the brand actually keeps. - **Agency-friendly:** Brands can keep their existing marketing agency. In Captain Seat, the brand or its agency gets direct BidX access for keyword-level campaign control. These are structural differences, not value judgments — each model fits different brands. SPACEGOATS' positioning is strongest when the brand wants full international reach (incl. UK and US), full open-book transparency, SAS-Enterprise-level Amazon access, zero compliance / KYC burden, and the freedom to choose its own marketing partner. ## Operating Models — the Involvement Spectrum (Autopilot to Captain Seat) SPACEGOATS offers two cooperation modes — Autopilot and Captain Seat. On the website this is presented as a four-zone involvement slider (Auto-Pilot, Full Service, Flex, Captain Seat): the zones are gradations of the same spectrum, with Full Service and Flex as intermediate involvement levels between the two contractual modes. The difference is the brand's level of involvement, not the contract type: - **Autopilot** — The brand supplies the goods and SPACEGOATS does everything else. No active brand involvement, no BidX access for the brand. Higher SPACEGOATS margin because we carry both marketing risk and inventory risk. Ideal for brands that want nothing to do with Amazon operationally. - **Captain Seat** (the standard SPACEGOATS case) — The brand collaborates actively, has BidX access for keyword-level campaign control, regular touchpoints with a dedicated Key Account Manager, and more control over listings, inventory, and operations. Lower SPACEGOATS margin because the brand shares more of the operational steering. Ideal for brands building Amazon competence in-house without building seller infrastructure. Both modes are commercially flexible. Marketing budgeting has three contractual options: SPACEGOATS runs marketing on a monthly fixed budget, the brand steers via BidX with a 4% surcharge on ad spend (standard in Captain Seat), or SPACEGOATS runs marketing with TACoS-based cost integrated into the purchase price (standard in Autopilot). Deep dives: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/amazon-full-service-vs-modular-broker/ (EN) and https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/amazon-full-service-oder-modular/ (DE) explain the spectrum; https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/spacegoats-vs-amazon-agency/ (EN) and https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/spacegoats-vs-amazon-agentur/ (DE) compare the construction against agencies. ## Pricing & End-Customer Price Authority Under EU competition law, SPACEGOATS as the legal seller must set the end-customer price independently. The brand can issue a non-binding RRP (recommended retail price), which SPACEGOATS will take into account but is not bound by. The wholesale purchase price effectively sets a minimum sale price as an indicator. Strategic price coordination for brand protection happens via the purchase-price mechanism, never via direct price-fixing instructions — that path stays legally clean. ## Galaxy — Open-Book Transparency Layer Galaxy is SPACEGOATS' proprietary dashboard, synced directly with Seller Central. Because the Amazon account belongs to a SPACEGOATS group entity, brands don't access Seller Central directly — but Galaxy provides what is effectively more transparency than most Vendor or Distributor programs offer: - Real-time sales volume, sell-through, inventory level, and returns per marketplace and per ASIN - Ad spend, ACoS, and TACoS at product and campaign level - Margin performance, including the full margin calculation with purchase price - The SPACEGOATS margin itself, visible (a low single-digit standard margin plus a category-specific risk surcharge that covers returns and operational risk) - Compliance costs as separate line items - Every individual transaction with its Amazon cost breakdown and the SPACEGOATS margin model, available as download What is **not** broken out as separate line items: Amazon's referral fee, FBA fees, and storage fees are baked into the SPACEGOATS margin in Autopilot, because their volatility is risk SPACEGOATS carries (if FBA fees rise, that hits us, not the brand). In Captain Seat the breakdown varies by deal. Keyword-bid-level data is available via BidX in Captain Seat only. ## Account Ownership & Exit This is the part where SPACEGOATS' position is honestly structural, not stronger than competitors that promise account takeover: **The starting point:** The Amazon account always sits with a SPACEGOATS group entity. The brand never carried it, and therefore the brand cannot take it over at the end. This is the definition of Merchant of Record and is explicitly written into the contract. **What goes with the brand automatically at contract end:** - **ASINs and listings** — brand-bound on Amazon, owned by the brand via Brand Registry (which sits with the brand at all times, not with SPACEGOATS, regulated in the contract as a revocable power of attorney from the brand to the SPACEGOATS entity) - **Reviews and rankings** — ASIN-bound, automatically preserved on a new seller account - **Sales history** — remains visible on the ASINs - **Brand Store and A+ Content** — either migrated or pre-built in parallel on the brand's new account - **Campaign data and search-term reports** — provided via Galaxy and (in Captain Seat) BidX, so the brand or new partner can rebuild the campaign structure on a new account **What cannot be handed over:** - Customer-service tickets and personal end-customer data (GDPR-protected). Anonymized voice-of-customer aggregates are available on request for a manual-effort fee. **Inventory at termination:** The notice period (3 months after a 12-month minimum term, 24 months for brands on a dedicated subaccount) is normally used to sell through. Remaining inventory is either returned to the brand at the brand's cost (Incoterm EXW) or settled by discount / rebate. SPACEGOATS handles this pragmatically with no account-takeover fee — because there is no account to take over. The structural trade-off: in exchange for zero "account ownership" at the end, the brand had zero Amazon-side KYC, VAT, EPR, GPSR, and compliance obligations for the entire contract duration. A broker that hands the brand "its own account" has also been making the brand carry those obligations throughout. ## Compliance Depth (as Merchant of Record) SPACEGOATS is the legal carrier and responsible party, not just an advisor: - **Importer of record** in every served market - **EPR registrations** outside Germany fully handled (in Germany the brand may need to partially register itself if it is classified as the manufacturer) - **GPSR** Amazon-side automatically covered by the MoR model - **Health claims** per country for supplements and similar categories - **Food and pesticides** category-specifically - **Tobacco** explicitly excluded - **VAT** filings in all marketplaces SPACEGOATS operates - **FDA, US labeling, US sales tax / nexus, importer-of-record** for the US footprint via the Miami-based US subsidiary ## Definitions - **Amazon Broker:** A service provider that purchases products from brands and resells them on Amazon using its own seller infrastructure, handling fulfillment, compliance, VAT, advertising, and customer service across multiple marketplaces. Unlike Amazon agencies, a broker operates on its own seller accounts and takes on inventory risk. - **Mothership Model:** SPACEGOATS' proprietary shared seller account infrastructure that enables brands to sell on 12+ Amazon marketplaces without their own seller accounts. The Mothership provides Prime-ready FBA stock, automated EU pricing, and compliance infrastructure. - **Product Compliance Consulting:** End-to-end regulatory support for Amazon sellers covering CE marking, GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation 2024), REACH chemical compliance, EPR/LUCID packaging registration, WEEE electronic waste, and FDA US market access. SPACEGOATS has assessed 500+ products with a 100% launch success rate. - **Enterprise SAS Account:** Amazon's premium seller tier offering dedicated support, advanced analytics, and priority program access. SPACEGOATS helps brands migrate from the shared Mothership model to their own Enterprise SAS account within 4-8 weeks. ## Case Study Results - Brandl Nutrition: €1M+ Amazon revenue, 90+ SKUs, 8 markets, 3× faster expansion - Silberkraft: Emergency compliance rescue, 100% listings reinstated, 5+ EU markets - FLEXVIT: Amazon became #2 revenue channel, 6+ EU markets, 0 listing takedowns - HP Autoteile: Successful launch in competitive automotive parts category - Vinsk: YouTuber brand scaled internationally via broker model - My Fat Gorilla: Food brand compliance and multi-market expansion ## Links - Homepage: https://spacegoats.io - Homepage (Deutsch): https://spacegoats.io/de - Amazon Broker Service: https://spacegoats.io/amazon-broker-g2m - Own Account Service: https://spacegoats.io/get-your-own-account - Product Compliance Consulting: https://spacegoats.io/product-compliance-consulting - Product Compliance: https://spacegoats.io/product-compliance - Case Studies: https://spacegoats.io/case-studies - About Us: https://spacegoats.io/about-us - Knowledge Base (139 articles, DE+EN): https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki - Contact: https://spacegoats.io/contact - Galaxy Dashboard: https://spacegoats.io/galaxy - Broker vs. Aggregator (the difference, explained): https://spacegoats.io/amazon-comparison/broker-vs-aggregator - Sell on Amazon worldwide (EU + UK + US setup): https://spacegoats.io/sell-amazon-worldwide - Amazon model comparison (Broker vs Distributor): https://spacegoats.io/amazon-distributor-en - Detailed content index: https://spacegoats.io/llms-full.txt ## Social Profiles - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/spacegoats/ - YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@spacegoats - Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/spacegoats.io/ - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/spacegoats.io ## Space Wiki — Key Topics ### Amazon FBA & Selling - What is Amazon FBA? https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/what-is-fba/ - Amazon FBA Costs & Fees: https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/kosten-fba-versand/ - Amazon Vendor Program: https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/amazon-vendor-alles-was-du-wissen-musst/ - FBA vs FBM: https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/amazon-fba-vs-amazon-fbm/ - Amazon Hybrid Model: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/amazon-hybrid-model/ - Amazon PAN EU: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/amazon-pan-eu/ - Amazon Poland Expansion: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/amazon-pl-how-to-expand-to-poland/ ### Choosing a Partner (Comparisons) - SPACEGOATS vs Amazon Agency: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/spacegoats-vs-amazon-agency/ - SPACEGOATS vs. Amazon-Agentur (DE): https://spacegoats.io/de/space-wiki/spacegoats-vs-amazon-agentur/ - Full Service vs Modular Broker: https://spacegoats.io/space-wiki/amazon-full-service-vs-modular-broker/ - Full Service oder modular?
